Endowed gifts provide stable funding for Baystate Health to continue to evolve and grow in how we deliver leading-edge care to best meet the needs of the community.
Gifts to our endowment provide vital resources for Baystate Health that can be counted on year after year to:
- Enable us to adapt and pivot with resiliency during unprecedented health emergencies, such as a pandemic.
- Help train and educate physicians, nurses and other healthcare providers to ensure the best in diagnosis and care for patients.
- Further clinical trials and research efforts as we seek new knowledge to bring better outcomes to patients.
- Provide for the latest cutting-edge equipment and technology to keep a heart beating, stop a cancer cell in its tracks, or transplant a kidney for a patient in need.
- Build a competitive advantage in attracting and retaining the best and brightest medical talent.
…AND CAN BENEFIT YOU AND YOUR FAMILY TOO.
An endowed fund offers a meaningful way to link your name and values—or that of a loved one—with Baystate Health in perpetuity, supporting elements of our mission that are most important to you and your family.
Endowed gifts can be made:
- In your name, your family’s name, in honor or memory of a loved one.
- During your lifetime, over a period of years, or through an estate gift.
- Using cash, property, or other assets.
- As a beneficiary of your retirement plan, bank account, or life insurance policy.
- As a bequest in your will or trust.
- As a permanent, living legacy to support the area of Baystate Health that matters most to you.
An endowed fund is an investment fund established to last forever. The gift is invested so the principal value may grow over time. Each year, a portion of the value of the fund is used to support the fund’s purpose. Earnings in excess of this distribution are used to build the fund’s market value. In this way, an endowed fund can grow and provide support for its designated purpose for generations to come.
